A cable is :
- a headline whose length is 140 characters minus the place for a link (1st channel is twitter)
- a shortlink bringing to the cable content which is stored as a wikipage at http://uplib.fr (we may use our own link shortener)
- there may, or not, be an associate image (to see)
Cable content
A cable content is a short wiki page made of :
- Generally only a few informative lines about a news. Should be easily readable.
- No predefined format. Maybe an optimal format will emerge, and we will adopt it. But at the beginning, we just try our best.
- some links (internal and external)
- 1 image
- the whole should stand in a page without scrollbar
- images must be proven licence free images ("image is ok, believe me" is not a proof)
- image size must be reasonable (max 150ko, mean 100ko), if writers don't know how to do ... learn !
- expectations : 2 or 3 cables per day per contributor
- no a priori cable validation (5 minutes at maximum). The great a priori validation is done by being selected to be a member of the team. The hypothesis is then confidence (until it is broken).
- posteriori validation : if a writer breaks the editorial policy and/or the technical policy too much, he is simply fired
- an original cable may followed by related retweets
- an original cable may be replayed 2 or 3 times in the day
- an original cable may be replayed as an archive when relevant
- a cable is not fixed. It can very well be augmented in the minutes/hours/days which follow the news.
- each cable gets some categories. Which will facilitate compilation etc.
- a cable has its short life on social medias, and a longer one on the wiki

- maybe it's possible to realize a screenshot of the wikipage, or the top of this page. To go with the tweet. ?
