The job of a writer is to write a three-sentence story once a week. An estimated one-hour job per week,

The headline makes or breaks a story, here on FWN as everywhere else. Our key is to make people want to share our stories - well, our images containing stories. Therefore, the headline must produce some sort of emotional response -- either laughter or anger.

Our first launch is heartbeat stories that have a very fixed format: they consist of a headline and three sentences. These three sentences take the form of Fact. Background. Satire.

The story must be able to stand on its own if you read just the first sentence, or just the first two sentences.

Your application will be processed based on the engagement metrics of this and the next story. Remember that it needs to trigger the chuckle-and-share reflex, regardless of news content!

Your story has been created. You can't see it on the Dashboard, because your own stories aren't visible there. But all other editors just got your story up on-Dash and probably already discussing it.

An edit resets the flag count. Two greenflags after that will publish a story, two redflags reject it.

zzz : It defers the story to other editors, basically meaning "I don't want to deal with this". It will not come back to your queue.
